I have been offering online dog training for a number of years and more recently it is growing in popularity.

Online training can be convenient for lots of reasons, if you lead a busy life and don’t get time to go to conventional classes, if your dog is nervous/shy/reactive or can’t cope with group classes, or you may simply just prefer it.

An advantage to training your dog in your own home, is it gives your dog a chance to initially learn new skills in a less distracting environment. Then once your dog knows that skill/behaviour you can take them out into the ‘real world’, around other dogs, distractions etc. and implement those skills easier than if you were trying to teach your dog with the distractions of other dogs and people. Of course, you must not neglect to also appropriately socialise your dog and teach them about the outside world, and that will be made a whole lot easier with your new found skills.
